In 2024, she stepped in at the very last minute,听with just six weeks鈥 notice,听to take on the marathon for the charity. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to give ROS as much support as possible,鈥 she says. Despite the tight turnaround, she raised an incredible 拢2,700, proving not only her determination but her natural talent for rallying people behind a cause she cares deeply about.听
Laura鈥檚 motivation is deeply personal.听

I have a very close friend who was diagnosed with osteoporosis,鈥 she explains. 鈥淏eing able to run and raise money that helps towards the vital help and support, as well as the medical treatment she, and everyone else living with the disease, receives, is really important to me.听

Looking听ahead to 2026听
Despite her experience, Laura admits she felt daunted at first. 鈥淭his is my fourth consecutive year fundraising, so it鈥檚 going to be tough,鈥 she thought. But with her trademark determination, creativity, and the support of her family and friends,听who she听jokes听are now used to her 鈥渂eing a nuisance鈥 for sponsorship,听she鈥檚听already smashing her targets.听
2026 will be an especially meaningful year: Laura turns听50听just four days before the marathon. She plans to use the milestone to inspire even more donations and awareness for a cause that means so much to her.听
